DGTL will return to the NDSM- Docklands in Amsterdam for the 5th edition on April 14th (Opening Night), 15th & 16th 2017.

The ‘Modularity’ theme is based on the various elements of a modular synthesizer – perhaps the most central instrument in dance music other than a drum computer – like input, filter, frequency and amp. The application of the ‘Modularity’ theme to DGTL Amsterdam 2017 will result in each stage, as well as other relevant points on the NDSM terrain, to have its own characteristics in sound but also design and overall feel.

For instance, the entrance to DGTL Amsterdam 2017 will be renamed ‘Input’, while the first stage that visitors will come across is called ‘Generator’, the place where the festival-goers are powered up before they’re let loose, so to speak. Throughout both days, visitors can expect Max Cooper, HVOB [live], Jan Blomqvist [live],as well as Speedy J and Sterac b2b Konstantin at the Generator. Loaded up and ready, visitors can continue their festival trip down to other stages like ‘Filter’ and ‘Frequency’, where acts such as Agoria, Moscoman [live], Midland and Space Dimension Controller [live] will be performing.

The final destination on the map is the ‘Amp’, where the visitor is unleashed as a plenary sound signal. The Amp will function as the co-host stages – Mosaic By Maceo and Dixon Curated over the weekend. Finally, there is the ‘Gain’, which is hosted by Resident Advisor on both days, featuring such artists as Jennifer Cardini, Matrixxman, Sandrien and Willow. Those that want to escape the sonic wilderness of the festival can find peace in the ‘Mute’ area.

All these different stages combined form and reinforce the key pillars and values of DGTL, like originality and quality, resulting in a truly immersive festival experience that sends a clear and positive message of innovation and sustainability at the same time.

BeachGrooves May/June monthly rundown

What has BeachGrooves been up to this month?

The arduous task of running a 24/7 radio station continues and the work just keeps coming in.  Events, promotions, making and maintaining contacts around the globe, paperwork and keeping up with the movements of our DJs (amongst many other things) takes up a lot of time.  With the summer season upon us, the workload just gets heavier, but it’s all good fun.  We are constantly receiving some superb messages from our listeners which makes all the hard work even more worth it.  Thank you guys!!!

Radio automation:

The system we use to co-ordinate the start of shows, with the adverts has been upgraded.  As part of our ongoing “make it better” approach to all that goes on here,  the system has seen some major changes as well as a big investment and this should help us better serve the other services we provide.

We’ve had a series of power cuts in the area while the local grid has been strengthened for the on-coming summer rush of visitors to the area.  This has called for an update to our own backup system and the recent outages have helped us highlight issues as well as test teh new system…more to come.

Radio boost:

Again, as part of our upgrade path and growth, we now have a new (additional) radio frequency.  As well as 88.9FM covering Malaga, 97.1FM covering Marbella and 94.2FM covering San Pedro, we have now added 103.3FM servicing the good people in and around Sotograde up to Gibraltar and Algeciras and beyond and would like to welcome all the folks down there to the BeachGrooves family.  This is in addition to the boost in radio power of our 94.2 FM frequency

Sunset Terrace Party 3rd May:

Yet another successful day.  The BeachGrooves Sunset party is always a lot of work to organise; Staging, lighting, performers, promotion all go towards making it a long, yet very satisfying day to pull together.  Part 1 in April was a great success and Part 2 on the 3 May was even better.  We are now in the process of getting everything together to make Part 3 (7th June) and even better day for the BeachGrooves family…watch the social networks for more details.

Cato Anaya and Joe’s Members Club (Marbella)

He came, he saw, he enjoyed!

Last month, Columbian born DJ / Producer, Cato Anaya (Sony Music)  came to Marbella as part of his DJing tour.  After wowing the BeachGrooves listeners with a superb guest session and then going on to conquer Joe’s members club (Marbella) and Olivia Valare, the music machine is now enlisted with a regular session.  Playing every Saturday evening from 6pm-8pm  on BeachGrooves radio, Cato has fully embraced the house music scene here in Marbella and is enjoying becoming a part of it.

New staff:

Sema Garay (DJ) also joins the backend office helping out with production, design, online promotion and a whole lot more. Sema is also a resident DJ on BeachGrooves radio playing every Sunday from 5pm-7pm with his sublime deep soulful mixes.

BeachGrooves Sunday Terrace Sessions: Part 1

Good Day Groovers,

Hot on the heels of the announcement of the next party comes a small review about the 1st party… BeachGrooves hits the streets!

On Sunday 5th April, BeachGrooves Radio took to the port of Marbella for an all day deep house music bonanza at Sunset Terrace, located in the beautiful setting of the Port of Marbella.  The Sun was shining and the day from the outset can only be described as a monumental success.

The day was amazing…

Station manager and resident Derek D (flown in from Belgium) and Keef Luv (weekday resident) opened the day with a sublime and uplifting deep house “back-to-back” DJing duet easing the crowd into what was to come.  The crowds soon built up quickly around the terrace with the many visitors and locals out enjoying Semana Santa weekend.  Sunday regular DJ Sema Garay followed up with a beautiful soulful house session perfect for the afternoon.  Weekday resident Tito Pulpo continued the flow raising the pace bringing everyone out of their seats dancing.  The Terrace session was also broadcast live on BeachGrooves Radio throughout the afternoon.

BeachGrooves Outside Radio broadcast

A number of the BGDJs showed up in support of the station and their fellow DJs including Steve Canueto (The Weekend Warmup – every Friday 5-7pm), DJ Erik, DJ Boris, DJ Godoy and DJ Biggie amongst other regular musical maestros.

Many passers-by were armed with camera capturing the show with the Go-Go dancers, percussionist and trumpet player blending seamlessly with the uplifting music of the BGDJs…within an hour, Sunset was alive and bulging to the capacity even with people outside waiting to be placed.  Sunset soon became the center of interest and entertainment for the usual Sunday afternoon Marbella Port visitors. The session was so successfully that it continued for over an hour and a half AFTER it´s scheduled closing time of 8pm, people just didn’t want to go home.

Here are some pics from the day…

Our Next Musical outing:

It is with great pleasure that we can announce our next date at Sunset. We are back once again on SUNDAY 3rd May 2015 so get it into your diary… a day not to be missed
